We left Joeri’s ‘tipsy’ mooring on Wednesday, just as soon as the fender repair was complete and headed back down to Deinze to meet up with David (Carmen) again. As we were mooring up Keith (whom we met there last year) called over to us and then Nicki and Andy (Shensi) came into moor too. Lucreze & Charlotte came on over and so a very sociable few days ensued – including lots of dogs!
On Wednesday evening Lucreze, Keith and David joined us for an impromptu dinner on board Piedaleau.
On Thursday evening we all went out for dinner to Bruno’s bar beside the mooring. Trish & David (Pilgrim) joined us by car – their boat is currently in dry dock somewhere – and Janos (Nicki & Andy’s rally guest) was also there so we were quite a gathering!
On Friday it was all aboard Shensi for goodbye drinks for Janos who was returning to Florida the next day.
On Saturday we were invited to Keith and Lucreze’s for drinks. Enjoyed seeing all their animals again – particularly the new Seebright chicks which Charlotte is raising having sold quite a few recently.
Phew! all felt we needed some respite for our livers!
When we were here in Deinze last year we saw a Shire Horse show, which took place right down the main street. This time it was vintage cars on Sunday morning in glorious sunshine.
